Sign up for recruitment! This year, the Panhellenic committee will be hosting recruitment on a virtual platform. Potential members will get a chance to meet members of each sorority through three rounds of recruitment, lasting 45 minutes each. It’s important to meet each sorority to find who you click with. Joining a sorority is fun, so don’t be nervous! We can’t wait to get to know you!

While no one is guaranteed an invitation to join a sorority after completing the recruitment process, we do our absolute best to ensure that as many people as possible receive an invitation. There are very few cases in which a girl going through the recruitment process in the fall does not receive an invitation.

Each sorority has dues required for their membership, but the recruitment process is free! At University of Manitoba, some sororities are “all inclusive” where all activities for the school year are included, and others have additional fees. During recruitment, each sorority will break down their fees. Some members are supported by their families, but many work part time in order to pay by themselves! Don’t let costs deter you from joining a sorority! Most sororities offer payment plans, which can be divided in monthly or bi-annual instalments.

Academics are a pillar of sorority life, and each sorority at University of Manitoba has a minimum GPA for members. Even if your GPA isn’t perfect, we still want to meet you! We are committed to helping members achieve and maintain the GPA they want!

As students, we understand how precious time is! All three sororities have different time commitments for members, usually a few hours a week, as well as study and volunteer hours. There are also some mandatory events (which are always lots of fun), that you’ll know about well in advance. During recruitment, you’ll get to learn more about the time commitment for each sorority.

Feel free to reach out to us with any concerns. It is possible to still go through with recruitment if you can only make it to certain events but we will be able to give you more accurate information on a case to case basis as some events are essential to the recruitment process. If you are unable to complete recruitment at all in September certain groups may elect to hold recruitment events throughout the school year so keep updated on all social media!
